This year 4 riders from our team participated in the ONK OW Cup races in Oschersleben in the Procup 600 and Sportcup 1000 classes. On Friday we started with a free practice session and 2 qualifications, followed by Race 1. On Saturday we had a warm-up and Race 2.

RACE 1 RESULTS:
ONK PROCUP 600:
3rd-Greg Barnes #67
4th-Mark van Bunnik #77
14th-Jan Houbraken #35
Gin Tonic#67 had a great start and was constantly present in the front group to finally reach a 3rd place. Fastmarky#77 immediately had to pass a number of 1000cc riders from the sports cup 1000 after the start, before he could really accelerate. The leading group was too fast for him, but the rest of the field couldn’t keep up with him either. As a result, he finished at P4, 19 seconds behind the leader and 18 seconds before the rest of the field. The Chaser#35 had a reasonable start and was able to make up some places during the race and eventually finished on P14.
ONK Sportcup 1000:
12th-Gerard Streefland #86
Bikkel#86 had a solid race, but couldn’t get to his times off qualifying as he was taken out of concentration by a warning light on his dashboard. He finished the race in 12th place, but was not satisfied.
On Saturday the weather was different from the day before and the day started wet. The warm-up was on a completely wet track and because the predictions for the race were dry, all riders of the team stayed inside. The 2nd race started at 12:50 PM.
RACE 2 RESULTS:
ONK PROCUP 600:
2nd-Greg Barnes#67
14th-Jan Houbraken#35
DNF-Mark van Bunnik#77
Gin tonic#67 had another great start and was in 2nd position the entire race, even when he was overtaken after a few laps by Ronald Post, because this rider had been given a 20 second penalty by a jump start. Back-markers caused him to lose the connection with the riders in front of him. The Chaser#35 had a steady pace again, but could not move forward and finished in 14th position. Fastmarky#77 had a bad start and first had to pass a number of riders from his own class and from the sportcup 1000 class, before he could get up to speed and take 4th position again. Unfortunately, in the final lap, he had to go off line when overtaking a back-marker and his front wheel slipped and he got off track. No finish, but rider ok.
ONK Sportcup 1000:
10th-Gerard Streefland #86
Bikkel#86 had something to make up for today after yesterday’s race and did so by setting faster lap times and better result, P10.
