2023-09-03 IDC Oschersleben – 2nd and 3rd race 2023
On Friday, September 1, we prepared everything for the race weekend of the IDC. The weather was fine with sun and around 20 degrees. Jan Houbraken (The Chaser#35), Luc van Gerven (The Bomb#36), Mark van Bunnik (Fastmarky#77) and Greg Barnes (Gin-Tonic#67) were able to hit the track for the first time at the end of the day for a 20-minute free practice on their Yamaha R6. All riders were again classified in the Supersport class this weekend, Mark van Bunnik again drove with a day license. There were 2 qualifying sessions on Saturday and 2 races on Sunday.
Qualifications
During qualifying our riders were in the midfield of the fast Supersport class. Luc van Gerven achieved P16, Mark van Bunnik P17, Greg Barnes P18 and Jan Houbraken P21.

Race 1
Luc van Gerven and Mark van Bunnik had a reasonable start. Greg Barnes was slightly behind Mark and was able to overtake him during the race. Luc could no longer be traced back then. Jan Houbraken was able to get into his rhythm better and better during the race and improve his lap times. Ultimately the result was:

Race 2
Just after noon it was time for Race 2 already. This time Greg Barnes had another one of his great starts, but during the race he could not prevent Luc van Gerven from passing him. Mark van Bunnik had a mediocre start and had to pass several riders during the race. Jan Houbraken became faster and faster, but unfortunately could not get under the 1:39 he wanted. Ultimately the result was:
